- The Government (88 CONS/PKA) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(ii). The proposed source is: QUANTUM DESIGN, INC., SAN DIEGO, CA. The item being procured is a SUPERCONDUCTING QUANTUM INTERFERENCE DEVICE (SQUID) SYSTEM Quantity: (1) which includes the following: Quantity: (1) 7.0 Tesla High Uniformity Magnet System; Quantity: (1) EMS-3 Environmental Magnetic Shield; Quantity: (1) 7.0 Tesla AC Measurement; Quantity: (1) 7.0 Telsa Ultra-Low Field; Quantity: (1) Nitrogen Jacketed Dewar; Quantity: (2) Manual Insertion Utility Probe; Quantity: 1) Extended Dynamic Range; Quantity: (1) External Device Control; Quantity (1) Both Horizontal Sample Rotator and Vertical Rotator; Quantity (1) Oven; and Training?3 additional days on-site; and Shipping and Insurance. This notice is being published for information purposes only, and is not a request for competitive quotations. However, any quotations received within five (5) business days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
