- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces its intention to negotiate and issue a sole source award with the University of Puerto Rico/Caribbean Primate Research Center, San Juan, PR. The project will use the same vaccinated and virus challenged rhesus macaques under a previous Contract 200-2005-M-13323 with the University of Puerto Rico/Caribbean Primate Research Center. The anticipated period of performance is five months from the award date. The tasks requirement under this project are 1) administer the tests, 2) monitor and report on current status of the project, 3) observation of the vaccinated and virus challenged rhesus macaques, 4) collect specimens and data, and 5) submission of progress reports. The Contractor is the only source to provide the specific quantity, capability, and data within the time constraints deemed necessary by CDC. CDC intends to negotiate this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1). The sole source procurement will be awarded as a simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13 procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination to compete this procurement based on a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties who believe they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. All responses should be received by July 9, 2007, at 10 AM, Eastern Standard Time (EST). All responses must be in writing and can be sent via email to bbv9@cdc.gov or fax to 404-639-8095.
