- The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a contract to LECO Corporation, St. Joseph, MI under NAICS 334516. This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplement with the additional information in notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. This sole source acquisition is to acquire the SUPPLIES ONLY for the LECO Corporation Pegasus 4D GCxGC system. The LECO Corporation is the sole manufacturer of the commercial Pegasus 4D GCxGC-TOF-MS instrument. The features of LECO Pegasus 4D GCxGC-TOF-MS are essential for the FDA need for developing methods for food safety and food defense. No other company manufacturer the supplies for LECO Pegasus 4D GCxGC-TOF-MS multidimensional gas chromatograph unit coupled to a time of flight mass spectrometer and the integrated software. This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. The contract will be made on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures and 13.501(a) ?The following supplies are not offered on the LECO Corporation GSA schedule. The supplies are as follow,(2)Tuition for three days of GC-TOFMS operation and ChromaTOF software training, Part No. 002-201, (3) Tuition for one and half day of advanced GC-TOFMS operation and ChromaTOF software training, Part No. 002-202, (4)19? Flat Screen Color Monitor, Part No. 710-172 (2) each, (5) ChromaTOF 4D 3.0 software and NIST Mass Spectral Library, Part No.710546, (6)Automated LN2 Leveling System, Part No. 710-955, (7) LN2 Cryogenics Oven Cooling, Part No. GC-STD-004, (8)TOF Gas Purifier Kit, Part No. 709-179, (9) Assay Detector Peg Rebuilt, Part No. 709-295-RBT, (10)Enable Scripts Software, Part No. 710-182-B/O, (11) One year warranty extension, Part No. PEG-4D-1YR, (12) Gerstel Automation Bundle, Part No. S999-GERSTEL-FDA. Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. Vendors may register by going to www.ccr.gov. vendors will need your DUN and Bradstreet number and banking information. The anticipated award date is 07/02/2007.
