- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE - - - The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas, plans to issue Invitation For Bids (IFB) MIL-0001 to make improvements to the fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Milan located in Milan, Michigan (Washtenaw County). The FCI is a medium security correctional facility. The successful contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, and tools to perform the work in accordance with the specifications and drawings provided. The performance period is expected to be 1,095 calendar days and the magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The solicitation will be available on or about July 16, 2007, with an anticipated bid opening date of August 16, 2007. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities web site at http://www.fbo.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will NOT be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. All interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the current information about this acquisition and are encouraged to monitor, and register their company on the Interested Vendor List (IVL). This solicitation is issued under full and open competition and all contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
