- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a single source requirement for use of a particular brand, the acquisition for the Lease to Own Purchase of a Canon Image Runner Pro 1770 VP Network Production System, from IKON Office Solutions, Inc, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the sole vendor certified to sell and service the 100 Image Runner systems in the state of Oklahoma. The Image Runner high-speed duplication system is used to assist in printing FAA purchase orders, training materials, reports and directions. FAA currently has four (4) Canon 110 Image Runner, high capacity stacker, extra paper module and post processor printers. All equipment must work together with work flowing back and forth between different printers and servers. The FAA conducted a market analysis in May 2002, of products available to meet their requirements. As a result of the market analysis, IKON was the only vendor proposing equipment with fully open architecture that provided equipment that would interface/connect with the proposed equipment. The FAA requires a local response time of 1 to 2 hour for service due to the critical nature of many printing requirements. IKON is the sole vendor certified to sell and service the Canon 110 Image Runner systems in the state of Oklahoma and has the technical staff on board locally to meet response time requirements. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with IKON Office Solutions, Inc, (IKON) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in accordance with Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, Single Source Selection. This survey supports our determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a request for proposals.
