Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Medtronic Cardiac Surgery of Shoreview MN for the purchase of a Medtronic's Paceart System for facilities within VISN 12. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339112. To the best of our knowledge, Medtronic as the manufacturer of this equipment is the only vendor who can provide this equipment that has the ability to extract and manage data from both pacemakers and implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD) used in treatment of brachycardia and tachycardia. The system required must have the ability to create EP (Electrophysiology) and ablation reports, to convert historical data from our Instromedix CardioMagic system to a new system and interface with CPRS/VistA. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office within (seven) 7 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Medtronic.
