- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The VA National Acquisition Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-06-RP-0083 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and Department of Defense (DoD) to procure Simvastatin. The estimated annual usage is as follows: 1,650 bottles of 5mg Tablets, 30s; 27,795 bottles of 5mg Tablets, 90s; 2,894 bottles of 5mg Tablets, 500s "OR" 1,447 bottles of 5mg Tablets, 1000s; 15,700 bottles of 10mg Tablets, 30s; 100,054 bottles of 10mg Tablets, 90s; 42,850 bottles of 10mg, 500s "OR" 21,407 bottles of 10mg Tablets, 1000s; 70,231 bottles of 20mg Tablets, 30s; 295,864 bottles of 20mg Tablets, 90s; 167,624 bottles of 20mg Tablets, 500s "OR" 83,812 bottles of 20mg Tablets, 1000; 97,164 bottles of 40mg Tablets, 30s; 306,393 bottles of 40mg Tablets, 90s; 243,374 bottles of 40mg Tablets, 500s "OR" 121,687 bottles of 40mg Tablets, 1000s; 173,875 bottles of 80mg Tablets, 30s; 1,012,119 bottles of 80mg Tablets, 90s; 193,550 bottles of 80mg Tablets, 500s "OR" 96,775 bottles of 80mg Tablets 1000s. Where there is a choice of package size as indicated by the word "OR", the offeror may elect to offer either one or both of the package sizes indicated. If both package sizes are offered, only the lower priced package size will be included in the calculation of the lowest total aggregate price for evaluation of award. The estimated annual usage listed above is for VA, DoD, Indian Health Service (HIS), and Bureau of Prisons (BOP). VA reserves the right to add additional package sizes to the contract at a later date, when they become available or if offered in a vendor's proposal. This will not affect the quantities listed in the usage requirements. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA and DoD's respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor(s). Offeror's must state the exact name (name that appears on label) by which the drug will be supplied and have a unique NDC number. Capsules must be compatible with automated dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifil, etc.). If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. Solicitation No VA-797-07-RP-0083 will be electronically issued in commercial item format in accordance with FAR Part 12 on or about August 21, 2007, with a closing date of September 11, 2007.
