- Description
- The storage of POVs (to include Motorcycles) will be located in an indoors facility. The contractor is responsible for the storage of vehicles for 365 days or more. POVs storage locations will not exceed a 100 mile radius of Ft. Eustis or Ft. Story, VA. Storage is authorized in connection with contingencies and deployments. The Installation Transportation Office will coordinate with member and contractor to turn-in or release of vehicles at storage facility. The contractor will counsel the customer on the vehicle process and complete all documentation required. Contractor will complete additional Vehicle Storage Checklist along with Vehicle Inspection Survey Form (VISF). The contractor is responsible to prepare vehicles for storage in accordance with t he vehicle manufacturers recommendations in effect at the time of storage. Upon receipt, each vehicle will be inspected, photographed and cataloged according to location of storage. A vehicle inventory will be completed, filed and audited monthly. Monthly storage maintenance will include a 10 minutes of engine run time to include a minimum of .5 miles of driving; fuel stabilizer added based on manufacturers vehicle storage guidelines; recycle of heating and cooling systems. Within a 72 hours notice to the Contactor from transportation office of owners return or pending return, vehicles will be professionally washed and vacuumed. Contractor shall notify Installation Transportation Office and customer if the vehicle is inoperable or damaged and any differenc e on the odometer that is more than .5 miles per month while in storage. Contractor shall inform the customer of claims procedures and provide the customer with a copy of instructions for filing claims. Contractor shall note all claims damage on the VISF p rior to the customer leaving storage facility. Ensure the customer is provided with a shipment summary form at time of pick-up. During deployment shall authorize Contractor customer one temporary release of vehicle to customer for emergency or R&R leave.
