- This acquisition is to acquire the LAV C2 Command and Control Suite for the Assault Amphibious Vehicle Command Variant (AAVC7). The proposed action will be made on a sole source basis with Lockheed Martin Systems Integration of Owego, NY. This proc urement is for the integration and support of the hardware described below, much of which will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment. An award of a modification to TACOM Contract W56HZV-05-C-0383 is anticipated. This acquisition will be for the u pgrade of six (6) to ten (10) AAVC7 vehicles with an option to upgrade an additional seventy (70) vehicles. This upgrade will allow the vehicles to effectively manipulate and exchange both voice and digital data. The existing radio suite will be upgraded with currently fielded tactical radios. Workstations will be added to provide the staff with the capability to electronically manipulate situational awareness and fire support software on rugged laptop computers. Note 22: The proposed action is for ser vices for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
