- Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, it is the Government's intent to award a sole source purchase to Leica Microsystems Inc., 2345 Waukegan Road, Bannockburn, IL for the purchase of annual preventative maintenance service on a Microscope, Light, Lab System with two monitors and computers. Leica Microsystems Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer and is the only source capable of providing the required maintenance in order to support government mission requirements. This is the only service prov ider that has access to all repair parts and all other resources to include proprietary software to make the system fuly operational. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation d ocument is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advanta geous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without futher notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract price based on this notice is solely within the discretio n of the Government.
