Description

The contractor is to provide materials and labor for space alterations in the Social Security Office located in the Federal Building, 210 Walnut Street, Des Moines, Iowa. The work will include phased demolition and construction in an occupied space. It includes but is not limited to: partitions, electrical/data connections, carpet and tile, relocations of doors, paint and finishing work. The project is to enlarge the existing lobby area, expand an existing break room and renovate space in a storage room to accommodate new work stations. The contractor is to provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, management and supervision as required and needed for the completion of this project. The contractor will have 30 days to complete the project after receiving the Notice to Proceed. Estimated cost is $35,000 to $65,000. The contractor will be required to obtain a GSA security clearance for all individuals working on site. If you are interested in bidding this project, respond by email NO LATER THAN July 17, 2007, to cynthia.tabor@gsa.gov with your company name, contact person, address, phone number, fax number and DUNS number. Proposal packages will be mailed to interested parties after that date and will be sent on a disc unless a hard copy is requested. There is a walk-through of the project scheduled for July 25, 2007 at 4:00 PM. THIS REQUEST FOR SOLICITATION DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE AN AWARD. According to FAR 4.11, ALL contractors MUST be registered with Central Contractor Registration [CCR] at www.ccr.gov. All contractors must also be registered with Online Representations and Certification [ORCA] at https://orca.bpn.gov/, before having their bid evaluated.
