- Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)-Iowa City, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Architecture/Engineering services for "A/E to UPGRADE BLDG 1, HVAC SYSTEMS, PHASE VIII" at the VAMC in Iowa City, IA. NAICS Code 541310, size standard $4.5 million. Contractor shall furnish all labor and materials to provide A/E services as described in the Scope of Work, Qualifications and Services. This project will include the replacement of AHU's, exhaust fans, A/C units, humidifiers, convectors, and associated ductwork and controls throughout the Medical Center as well as the replacement of all the 3" circuit setter balancing valves and the installation of four 3" isolation ball valves on every floor to the chilled water line. The isolation valves will allow us to shut down half a floor without disrupting the whole medical center. Two drain valves will also be installed on every floor. Also included will be the re-piping of the tertiary loop along with balancing the main system. A/E contract will include design (with reviews), reproduction of bid documents, construction period services, final inspections and as-built drawings. Estimated construction cost range is $1.0 to $2.0 million. Estimated cost range for this solicitation is $250,000 to $500,000. Area of consideration: Firms must be within 150 miles radius, of the VAMC-Iowa City.
