****AMEMDMENT 02 ANSWERS ADDITIONAL VENDOR QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE ITEM DESCRIPTION AND DELIVERY: Q: About the cover, is it quilted vinyl, or plain? A: The cover is plain vinyl without padding. Q: Where is the vendor expected to deliver mattresses at each dorm? A: The mattresses shall be delivered to each room in the dorms. The only exception is for Dorm 464, 14 of the 85 mattress being delivered are stored on 3rd floor of dorm 464 due to second beds within some of the rooms. A road is located on the back side of Dorms 464, 466 and 473 for loading and unloading. Dorm 479 has road located front and parking lot side. Dorm 460 will require unloading on the back and front side grass area. Q: What does the vendor do with the old mattresses? A: Remove the old mattress and place into Government furnished roll-of dumpster. A dumpster will be provided by the government at each dorm during removal of old mattresses. All packing material will be placed in dumpsters also. Q: Are there elevators available? A: No elevator is available within the dorm complex. Our dorms are Motel style. Mattresses must be loaded across the rail or use the stairs which are located at the end of each building, for building 464,466 and 473. Dorms 479 and 460 have stairs at each end and in the middle. Q: What is the maximum number of floors in the dorm, the mattresses have to be carried up to? A: Each dorm has 3 floors Q: As of July 1, 2007, all mattress are suppose to be spec?d in as CFR 1633 not CAL 117 or 129. Does this apply to your requirement? A: Yes, replace CAL 117 or 129 with the new requirement-CFR 1633. Response to this combined synopsis/solicitation must be received via email, fax, mail, or delivery by 23 July, 2007 no later than 4:30 PM Eastern Standard time.
