- A Sources Sought/Market Research is seeking interested vendors for a limit competition pursuant to DFARS 252.225-7003 (a) and DFARS 252.225-7003 (2)(i). Rock Island Arsenal, AMSTA-RI-CT, Rock Island, IL 61299-5000 is conducting market research to det ermine businesses available for a firm fixed price for the purchase of Armor Steel Plates. The armored steel must be melted and rolled in the United States or Canada. Anticipated quantities range from 3,000 to 6,000 plates however, quantities are subject to customer requirements. Anticipated plate sizes range from 4 X 12 and/or 8 X 12. Anticipated thickness will vary but known thicknesses are ? , 3/8 , and ? . Armor steel plates will be in accordance to MIL-STD-12560. The anticipated North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) is 331111 with a business size of 1,000 Employees. All Interested firms should notify this office in writing by email or fax of your interest in this notice. Responses should inc lude identification of company, Cage Code, business size and status, proof of experience, and capability. This is a Sources Sought for planning purposes and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government . The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Sources Sought. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market research nor will the government return any data provided.
