- Description
- The Sacramento District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has an upcoming project titled, Guadalupe River Project, Contract 3A Phase 3 consisting of structural and channel improvements at Coleman Avenue, Coleman Bridge and replacement of UPRR bridg es Nos. 3 (vehicular bridge) and 4 (railroad bridge) between New Julian Avenue and Coleman Avenue, all in downtown San Jose, California. The primary objective is to provide 100 year flood protection to the areas of San Jose adjacent to the river by streng thening the Coleman Avenue bridge abutments, constructing a two-track railroad bridge (trestle/steel piling, approximately 40-feet wide by 175-feet long) and associated approaches, constructing a vehicular bridge (concrete girder, two-lane with two pedestr ian sidewalks and two bike lanes, approximately 50-feet wide by 200-feet long), constructing a pedestrian under crossing, constructing a maintenance road, and constructing environmental restoration features. The work is necessary to provide hydraulic capa city not provided by the previous bridges and to also provide the required recreational features. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $10,000,000.00 and $ 20,000,000.00. The NAICS Code for this project is 237310 with a Small Business Size Standard of $31,000,000.00. This announcement serves only as a market survey/sources sought selection in order to determine the interest and availability of small business concerns. PROPOSALS ARE NOT BEING REQUESTED AT THIS TIME. Responses are being so ught from qualified 8(a) (whos business plans are filed in CA, NV or UT), HUBZone and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns possessing the technical expertise and bonding capability to execute the work requirements. Interested contractor s must submit the following information as verifiable experience: (1) Proof of available bonding capacity of at least $18,000,000.00. Documentation must be in the form of a statement from the Contractors bonding company; (2) Verifiable evidence of experie nce in performing this type of work; and (3) How you will manage work in accordance with FAR 52.219-14(b)(3), Limitation on Sub-Contracting: General Construction. The concern will perform at least 15 percent of the cost of the contract, not including the cost of materials.
