Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWCDIV Newport intends to place a fixed price sole source order with Maritech, Acton, MA, Wilcox? local distributor, for 23 ea. Wilcoxon Research Model H507A Hydrophones with 20 ft. cable. Delivery is within 5 weeks of award. The basis for the sole source is that this hydrophone is compatible with the existing instrumentation and the instrumentation cannot be modified due to cost and an existing test schedule. Requirements: 1. Weight of the hydrophone must be less than 2 oz. (50 grams) sans cable; 2. Built in amplifier; 3. Usable at depths greater than 200 ft.; 4. Must have a high pass filter; 5. Noise floor less than 31 dB for all Frequency levels; 5. Frequency band must be between 1 kHz ? 100 kHz; 6. Sensitivity of -180 dB flat response in the frequency band. The solicitation will not be posted any earlier than 12 July 2007. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
