Description
DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Workshop in support of the BAA07-58, Multipath Exploitation Radar program on August 15, 2007, at Booz Allen Hamilton, One Dulles Campus, 13200 Woodland Park Road, Herndon, VA 20171 from 9am to 12 pm. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the Multipath Exploitation Radar program; promote additional discussion on this topic; address questions from potential proposers; and provide a forum for potential proposers to present their capabilities for teaming opportunities. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The objective of the Multipath Exploitation Radar program is to extend the reach of airborne sensor platforms beyond Line-of-Sight (LOS) limits by peering deep within the shadows of urban canyons. The range of current sensors in urban environments is limited by LOS blockage due to buildings. The Multipath Exploitation Radar concept will enable wide area urban surveillance with relatively few platforms by utilizing known multipath propagation between buildings into the urban canyons below. Ordinarily, multipath is a nuisance for radar systems that causes target ambiguities. This program will exploit the potential benefits of multipath to provide not only visibility into the urban environment but also distinctive signatures of the urban landscape that will help to localize and track targets moving within the urban canyons. The first phase of this activity will acquire radar data from urban terrains. This data will then be provided as Government Furnished Information for the second phase of this program. A separate BAA will be issued for the second phase of this program. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register NLT August 10, 2007 at the following website: http://www.schafertmd.com/mer/. Directions to the facility and other materials are also available on the website. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 100 registrants, and no more than 2 representatives per organization. The Proposers' Day will be unclassified and open to the general public. All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. Additionally, all US Citizens are required to submit a US Citizenship Verification form in order to attend this conference. Non-US citizens are required to submit a DARPA Form 60 "Foreign National Visit Request". The completed Citizenship Form or DARPA Form 60 must be faxed to: Allison Strine, SRA International, Inc., fax 703-243-4532, phone 703-875-9526, no later than August 10, 2007. Both documents are available for download at the registration website. Attendance is not required to propose to any associated BAA. After the conference, there will be an opportunity to meet individually with the Multipath Exploitation Radar program manager Dr. Edward Baranoski. Please contact Allison Strine (Allison_Strine@sra.com), (703) 875-9526 to schedule an individual session.
