Description
NAICS: 811219 "Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance" Posting: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Alaskan Region has a requirement for repair and maintenance of avionics equipment for SBS/Capstone Program equipped aircraft in Southeast Alaska. The period of performance is from August 1, 2007 through December 31, 2008. Contractor is required to provide all labor, materials, supplies, facilities, test equipment, tools and appropriate FAA certifications to perform this work on approximately 170 aircraft. Work will normally be performed at FAA Part 145, Authorized repair station (FAR Part 91.411 and 91.413) in Juneau, Alaska; however, the repair or maintenance work may be performed at other Southeast Alaskan sites such as Sitka, Ketchikan, Yakutat, Cordova and Petersburg. Repair and maintenance services: ?? Troubleshooting electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues. ?? Troubleshoot wiring and antenna problems; general electronic troubleshooting ?? Diagnosing and correcting problems when replacement of a component does not resolve the problem ?? Opening, servicing and return to service of the static system, including alternate system drains. ?? Certifying the reinstallation of an altitude encoder or a transponder for data transmission under authorization of FAR Part 145 ?? Installing Chelton or Garmin avionics program software upgrades under authority of a FAR Part 145 Repair Station ?? Configuring avionics upon replacement or maintenance Offers will be evaluated on price and past performance, with pricing being slightly more important than past performance. A contract will be awarded to the responsible, responsive business concern whose offer best meets the Government's requirements as specified, and offers the best value to the Government based on price and past performance. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
