- Description
- This project consists of backfilling 19,300 feet of C-38 from the southern end of Avon Park Bombing Range (station 1980+00) to the Weir No. 3 location at station 2173+00. Approximately 21,000 feet of new and existing river oxbows will be dredged. F ill material shall be used from the existing spoil mounds along the C-38 canal and from oxbow dredging. An earthen plug will be placed at station 2156+00 where existing oxbow connects with the C-38 canal. To haul material from the east side of C-38 (if n eeded) to the west side, an earthen crossing shall be constructed with eight twelve foot diameter culverts or similar hydraulic area. Access or hauling through the provided access corridor will require road construction with a minimum crest width of 30 fe et and a minimum embankment height of 3.5 feet with 1 on 4 side slopes. Culverts may be needed in low point areas along access corridor. The work is in Highlands and Okeechobee Counties, Florida. The Magnitude of Construction is between $25,000,000.00 a nd $100,000,000. The estimated performance period is 540 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The solicitation will be issued on or about 30 July 2007 and bid opening will be on or about 30 August 2007. THIS SOLICITATION IS A HUBZONE SET- ASIDE.
