- On or about 27 July 2007, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Rehab Terminal Area Ductwork, Fort Randall Dam, SD. The solicitation will close on or about 28 August 2007. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact Dan Boersen, Fort Randall Project, U.S. Hwys 281 & 18, 399 Powerhouse Road, Pickstown, South Dakota 57367-0199. 605-487-7845 ext. 3237 DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. Project Description: (Approx. quantities) In each power tunnel terminal area, work will consist of removing 600 to 640-feet of 12 inch round, 16-gage galvanized iron duct, old expansion joints, hangars and flanged fittings from underneath a removable catwalk and install new 12 inch round thin-wall ed PVC duct or equal, expansion joints, hangars and flanged fittings in the same location. Additional work will include chipping calcium and mineral deposit build up on the terminal area walls beneath each radial drain (4-5 per tunnel). Base work will be tunnels 7 & 8, with three options at two tunnels each. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 360 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Obtaining Solicitation Documents: This office will no longer send copies via paper or CDs of amendments and solicitations to interested parties.
