Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Weather Service (NWS) located in Denver, Colorado is in need of a contractor to provide all materials, equipment, transportation, labor, and supervision necessary for the refurbishment of the Upper Air Building, including removal and disposal of all materials associated with this project. Work for the refurbishment includes: 1) Metal: Installation of new steel handrails; 2) Wood and Plastics: replacement of fascia boards, garage door frames, and panel in overhead of garage; 3)Thermal and Moisture Protection: replacement of roof membrane and flashing, gutters and downspouts, and roof on building; 4)Doors and Windows: replace exterior doors and frames, and windows and frames; 5) Finishes: Paint and repair water damage, replace carpet; 6) Equipment: provide and install compressed gas storage racks for helium bottles; 7) Furnishings: replace all window blinds; 8) Special Construction: remove and replace lightning protection system; 9) Mechanical: remove gas furnace, cap gas supply, and seal the vent to the Dome; 10) Electrical: install and replace light fixtures, remove exterior lighting and provide and install new exterior lighting. The contractor shall be licensed and insured. The contractor will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work on the site. The resultant procurement will be a firm fixed-price contract. This will be a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) is 238990. The size standard for Small Business is $13 million. The estimated price range of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Completion time for this project is sixty (60) calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. All requests should be received by July 31, 2007. Requests should reference solicitation number WC133W-07-RQ-0474. Requests must include company name; address; CAGE number, DUNS number, phone number; fax number, and e-mail address. NO PHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All sources submitting a written request for the solicitation will be notified via e-mail when the solicitation documents are available along with instructions on how to obtain them. The solicitation will be available on or about July 31, 2007. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. There is a new Federal Integrated Acquisition Environment (IAE) initiative called Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). ORCA is a web-based system that centralizes and standardizes the collection, storage, and viewing of many of the representations and certifications required by the Federal Acquisition Regulations and previously found in solicitations. According to the language in FAR case 2002-024, vendors are required to use ORCA beginning 01 January 2005.
