- Subject: Sole Source for Contract to Collect Seeds, Grow, and Deliver Native Trees and Shrubs for Ecosystem Restoration on San Antonio Mission Reach Project, San Antonio, Texas, Control No. W9126G-07-I-TREE Opening and Closing Response Date: Opens July 13, 2007 and Closes July 26, 2007 Contact Point: Sheila Garrett, Contract Specialist, (817) 886-1058 Contract Award Dollar Amount: Less than $500,000, firm fixed price per plant based on 1.0 or 2.0 trees/shrubs delivered meeting the required specifications. Contractor: Texas Forest Service, West Texas Nursery, Idalou, TX Description: The proposed contract action is for supplies which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the require ment or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested companies shall respond to this notice by providing the following information: 1) Company Name, 2) Address, 3) Point of Contact information with telepho ne number and email address, 4) Cage Code, 5) Capabilities information/statement showing that the company has the ability to fulfill the Government requirement as described herein. The contractor shall be able to comply with all requirements described here in to be considered capable. This notice of intent to award a sole source is NOT a request for competitive proposals. The NAICS code is 111421. SIC code is 0181. The size standard is $.75 million. The Government requirement is for contract regional collection of seeds, growing and delivery of approximately forty (40) different species of native tree and shrub species to the San Antonio area for ecosystem restoration planting along the San Antonio River. Trees will be provided on an as needed basis according to a 4-phase construction schedule potentially occurring over a period of 10 or more years. Approximately 25,000 1.0 and possible 2.0 or older container grown trees will be provided in containers ranging in size from 28 cubic inches to two gallon pots to accommodate the possibilit y of carrying plants over an additional year or more due to scheduling conflicts with construction. Plant quality is deemed to be of highest importance and therefore, all plants must grade out according to required standards ranging from ? to 1.5 calipe r and 10 to 6.0 in height or better prior to delivery. Required standards are based on individual plant species. An additional requirement of providing and growing trees in shelters may be necessary to provide for plant protection, improve growth rates , and mark planting locations.
