Description
This specification establishes the requirement for two (2) Intelligent Lifting Devices, which will be provided to Anniston Army Depot, Anniston, Alabama. The Intelligent Lifting Devices (ILDs) shall be designed, fabricated, and installed by the con tractor with all functions, capabilities and equipment as described herein. The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to design, manufacture, deliver, install, calibrate if required, demonstrate functional operation, and provide operator and m aintenance training for the Intelligent Lifting Devices. The ILDs shall be of sufficient capacity to handle, install, and remove loads weighing from 20 lbs to 300 lbs. The devices shall include quick-change end effectors to allow the employee to install and remove various suspension parts such as Road Wheel Arms (Road Arms), Road/Idler Wheels, Torsion Bar housings, Torsion Bars, Shock Housings, Shock Absorbers, and Idler Arms, for the vehicle. The ILDs for the assembly bay shall have the capability to m ove the equipment from the transport pallet to shop benches for final work and shall move the parts to the hull and align and install them on the vehicle. The ILD shall have the capacity to remove parts that have been subjected to corrosive environments a nd severe duty such as service in mud and sand environments. The end effectors will be required to drive the torsion bars from the road arms and housings, remove the road/idler arms from the housings, remove the support roller spindle and roll pin, remove the housings from the hulls, and remove the road wheels and idler wheels from the hubs. The ILDs must be capable of moving parts in all axes of movement in order to provide accurate parts placement. This includes rotating, tilting, and flipping the part s. All controls must be either fingertip type from the operating handles and/or as a direct result of feedback from the operators hand pressure on the part or the Intelligent Lifting Devices handles. The ILDs must have a vertical speed of greater than or equal to 100 ft/min and an acceleration of 0.5g or better. The equipment must also have an inching capability to aid in accurate placement of the parts on the hull or transport pallets. The ILDs shall be mounted on battery powered electric carts sim ilar in function to an electric walk behind pallet jack. The carts shall be self contained with only the power / air supply connecting it to the building. The ILDs and any power carts shall require minimum floor space foot print when use. The ILDs shall be a standard model under current production by the contractor. All parts necessary to provide complete Intelligent Lifting Devices that meet all requirements located in the Statement of Work (SOW) shall be included. This is a commercial item. This solicitation is unrestricted. NAICS is 333999. Size standard is 500 employees. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7) and 14.205-1(c), therefore hardcopies will not be provided.
