Description
The subject Request for Quotation is hereby re-opened to incorporate the following clarifications/additions to the original Statement of Work. 1. Floating crane shall have a 40 ton (minimum) capacity with a 32 foot boom reach (minimum) beyond crane platform and a 70 foot hook height (minimum) at specified boom reach. 2. Lay-down/work area on the barge shall be approximately 20 foot x 30 foot to allow for prepping and installation phase. 3. It is the intention of the Government to load the cofferdam onto the contractor barge at Pier A prior to the barge being positioned outboard of the vessel. 4. Scope of work shall include installation and removal of the cofferdam (approx. dry weight of 11,500 lbs) as well as removal of the ship mooring chains located on the both the Starboard and Port side of the vessel identified as chains #2 and #7. Estimated maximum working load to lift a mooring chain is 45,000 lbs. 5. Government riggers will handle the control of all lifts and installation and removal of all rigging gear to the crane hook. Contractor will provide certified gear from the barge to the crane hook. The Government will provide all rigging gear from the crane hook to the load. 6. NPTU will be responsible for opening and closing of the security barrier. 7. Barge position when spuds are in place, will be approximately 60 to 65 feet from the edge of the pier to the inboard edge of the barge. Worksite is along the STBD outboard side of the vessel hull. Note: After removal of the cofferdam from the Stbd side of the vessel, the cofferdam must be placed on the pier. 8. Enclosure (1) is hereby incorporated into the subject requirement. Contractor shall ensure compliance with this regulation (as well as all requirements of original solicitation) in order to secure entry of crane into NPTU. A copy of this enclosure shall be supplied upon request 9. Rental period of performance: 26 July 2007 through 19 August 2007. NOTE TO CONTRACTORS HAVING PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED OFFERS: All contractors are required to respond to this solicitation, in writing, relative to the effect this amendment may or may not have on their current offer. The date and time for offers in response to this amendment is hereby re-established as 4:30 PM, Monday, July 16,2007.
