- Description
- United States Postal Service Request for Information Postal Lab - Printing, Duplicating Services and Office Supplies Responses to Request for Information (RFI) on Postal Lab ? Printing, Duplicating Services and Office Supplies July 13, 2007 Question #1 If the Postal Service?s test is successful in Schaumburg, IL, how many more sites would the USPS look to expand to in the long term, and in what types of markets? USPS Response: The concept being tested is new and at this point in time we are not prepared to discuss expansion nor do we know what markets. Question #2 Could a provider offer their transportation related services in the space allotted to the Copy & Print center location? USPS Response: No, those types of services would be seen in direct conflict with similar services offered by the USPS with in our location. Question #3 If a provider felt that more than 330 square feet of space would be necessary, is the USPS open to a larger footprint? USPS Response No, current design restraints with the Schaumburg location have place a limit to the 300 square feet. However, thoughts and perspectives on what would work best work can be helpful as the USPS looks forward after the test. Question #4 If the USPS is successful in their test and during the future planning of locations would the USPS allow a provider to assist in the selection of locations? USPS Response It is too early in the test development phase for the USPS to seek assistance for expansion. Though, if a provider has company expertise in selecting retail sites this could be made known to the USPS through their informational response. Question #5 Do you have a site layout or floor plan of the Schaumburg location? If so, can this be shared? USPS Response The site floor plan will be provided once the USPS has narrowed its focus to those who have taken the time to respond. Question #6 Would a provider be able to use their brand colors and signage at the Schaumburg location? USPS Response This is a possible option under consideration but would need to take into account USPS and ?The Village of Schaumburg? considerations. Question #7 Is the USPS open to self service only copy and print options without appropriate vendor/provider staffing? USPS Response Yes.
