Description
Sources Sought for Sand Car (High Performance Off-Road Vehicle) This is a sources sought synopsis only. This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to gain knowledge of commercially available products that may be of interest to the USBP. DHS Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is conducting market research to determine manufacturers and suppliers of sand cars / high performance off-road vehicle as described below: CBP is looking for products that will allow the search Trauma and Rescue Team a specialized off road vehicle for rapid response and recovery of injured personnel. The product will need to be able to function in the Sonora Desert terrain. This off road vehicle needs to accommodate a backboard, stokes litter, oxygen tank, emergency medical gear bag, two way radio, speaker, radio antenna, siren, emergency lights and any other specialized equipment deemed necessary for personnel rescue operations. The frame shall be of the four/five-seat design to seat a driver, a passenger and rear passengers. The passenger side front and rear seats will be fastened with (quick pins) or similar in order to be removed and exchanged for stokes type litter basket. The vehicle must be designed with a roll cage. Drive train shall be rear V8 engine with independent long travel front and rear suspension. Electrical system capable of operating stock vehicle system as well as government supplied law enforcement electrical equipment. Note: The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of information received as result of this notice or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. Responses to this notice should include company name, address, telephone number, point of contact (POC), and complete product details, brochures, and etc. which will allow CBP to understand your product, configurations, auxiliary equipment, and options. Also, state approximate lead-time for delivery of product. Provide past performance information on contracts with same or similar products within the past 5years. Include contract number, Point of Contact and phone number. Responses to this sources sought notice shall be mailed to Cindie Walker, Contract Specialist, Department Of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, 1111 N. Imperial Ave, El Centro, Ca 92243 or e-mailed to cindie.walker@dhs.gov. Responses must be received no later than C.O.B. 30 July, 2007.
