Description

The US Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement for an open-source software development, maintenance, and enhancements to the GEOSS (Group on Earth Observation System-of-Systems) Component and Service Registry based on Sun Java Enterprise Services environment. The USGS intends to make an award with a base year and one option year with George Mason University, Center for Spatial Information Science and Systems, as the only known exclusive operator and developer of the GEOSS Component Service Registry solution. No solicitation exists for this requirement. The USGS intends to make an award to George Mason University unless the Contracting Officer is contacted by any vendor who is authorized to also represent the GEOSS Component Service Registry. Vendors are invited to contact the Contracting Officer at spescitani@usgs.gov no later than August 9, 2007 with an affirmative answer.
