- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is announcing its intent to conduct a full and open competition for the development of a Common Avionics Display (CAD). This System Development and Demonstration (SDD) program will also include fixed price incentive options for full rate production purchases. The CAD program will develop a display that is modular, scalable and with an open architecture to enable commonality of major sub-components. These common components will serve as a baseline in a family of common displays which includes both fixed and rotary wing aircraft cockpits. Initial design, development, integration and testing will be for a 6 inch x 8 inch non-processing (dumb) display on the UH-1Y, AH-1Z, and V-22. The objective is to reduce both the logistics footprint and life cycle costs. The program is scheduled for a Milestone B decision in the 2nd Quarter of Fiscal Year 2008. The government intends to award a cost plus incentive fee type contract; with two fixed price incentive production options.
