- This announcement constitutes a Request for Quotation (RFQ). No formal, written solicitation will be issued. The United States Senate, Office of the Sergeant at Arms (SAA) has a requirement for a Data Protection Management (DPM) software. The SAA Enterprise Backup Environment consists of a centralized backup solution that support both UNIX and Windows created at the Senate Computer Center (SCC). Legato Networker is the backup tool/software used. Currently between 300 and 315 clients are being backed up on a daily basis. There are two production environments that are being monitored. One of the two is outside the firewall and is known as the DMZ. Most of the clients have SAN attached storage. But there are also clients off the disk SAN and servers located outside the firewall (DMZ). The tape SAN configuration consists of tapes and disks in a fibre-channel network. The hardware used are two Clariion CX type disk devices, one at the primary computing facility (PCF), and the other at the alternate computing facility (ACF). The two are connected by two fibre-channel fabrics. Also used is the StorageTek SL8500 tape silo located at the ACF. REQUIREMENTS: All requirements are provided in the Request for Quotation (RFQ). The Price Quotation must be valid until September 30, 2007. No exceptions or qualifications. All items shall be priced FOB-Destination, Washington, DC. OFFEROR INSTRUCTIONS: The Offeror?s response must contain the following completed RFQ documents (in Excel format only): 1) SAA Request for Quotation Form RFQ-2007-012; 2) Attachment A: Software Requirements; 3) Attachment B: Maintenance Options; C) Attachment C: Past Performance References. The response shall be submitted electronically via email only to acquisitions@saa.senate.gov (no faxes or mail deliveries). The subject line of the email message shall be RFQ-2007-012 Data Protection Management (DPM) Software. Quotations must be received no later than August 1, 2007 at Noon EDT. Contract award is anticipated in August, 2007. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing, no later than July 20, 2007. It is the responsibility of the Offeror to monitor this site for release of RFQ amendments (if any). Telephone requests for information will not be responded to. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. EVALUATION FACTORS FOR AWARD: The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: (1) Technical acceptability of item offered, in terms of whether it meets or exceeds the RFQ requirements; (2) Past performance information for the Offeror; (3) Warranty offered; and (4) Evaluated price. Non-price evaluation factors are equally important, and non-price evaluation factors, collectively, are significantly more important than evaluated price. Responses received without the required information will be considered non-responsive.
