Description: The goal of this project is to reduce fuel loading around public recreation facilities and private land boundaries so that in the event of a wildfire, suppression opportunities are improved, public and firefighter safety is also improved. Within the fuels reduction contract area there is an urgent need to remove windthrown trees so that populations of Engelmann spruce beetle do not rapidly increase and begin to infest standing green engelmann spruce trees. Project is located in T12S, R95W, portions of Sec. 1,2 and 3; T11S, R95W portions of Sec 35 & 36; and T12S, R94W portions of Sec 6. Approximately 69 acres to be treated.
