Description
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), plans to procure on a sole source basis, Microarray analysis of NSAIDs-induced genes in human vascular endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells, microarrays, and data analysis with GenUs Biosystems, Inc. 1808 Janke Drive Northbrook, IL 60062. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 541380 and the business size standard is $11M. The purpose of this requirement is to provide full service Microarray analysis on normal cardiovascular cells using the CodeLink technology. The study, ?Microarray analysis of NSAIDs-induced genes in human vascular endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells, is in conjunction to an earlier microarray study. GenUs Biosystems, Inc is the only source known to the NCI that can provide Microarray analysis using the CodeLink technology. In order to be able to expand and complete the ongoing research using this technology, the micro-array analysis must be compatible with previous experiments. In addition, GenUS Biosystems, Inc is the only accredited, certified commercial provider of the General Electric (GE) CodeLink bioarray services. Changing variables at this time will be detrimental to current Microarray analysis being performed in the NCI laboratory. Benefit The results of such studies, as mentioned above, are expected to yield new information regarding gene expression changes in cancer cells and normal cells in response to drugs used in the treatment of cancer. Understanding signals that lead from the cellular network that regulates growth to the genetic material may help clarify the differential sensitivity of particular cells to specific drugs. Proteins that convey those regulatory signals might serve as targets for the development of novel, safe and specific anti-cancer drugs. This is not a request for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. The statement of capabilities and any other information furnished must be in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the researcher to determine if the party can perform this requirement. One (1) original and one (1) copy of the capability statement must be received in the contracting office by 1:00 pm ET on August 3, 2007. All questions must be in writing and can be faxed to 301-402-4513 or sent via email to holdcram@exchange.nih.gov. It is the vendors responsibility to insure questions have been received. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No collect calls will be accepted. In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered in and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). Please reference NCI-70094-NG on all correspondence.
