- Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC)-Iowa City, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Architecture/Engineering services for "A/E to Renovate 9th Floor East & West Wing for Mental Health. NAICS Code 541310, size standard $4.5 million. Contractor shall furnish all labor and materials to provide A/E services as described in the Scope of Work, Qualifications and Services. The scope of work for this project shall include but not be limited to the design services for the renovation of approximately 20,000 GSF on 9th Floor. The design will result in improved and expanded capabilities for mental health services. West wing renovation will include office/treatment rooms, exam rooms, a group room, a telemed room, and reception /waiting areas. In addition, the project will renovate part of the east wing to reconfigure the bed spaces to better accommodate a 5 to 7 bed residential rehab and/or eating disorder programs. The firm selected will provide separate bid packages that include contract documents with architectural, mechanical and electrical to match footprint provided. Certified Industrial Hygienist is required - asbestos has been in these areas. All existing architectural, electrical and mechanical components will require evaluation for replacement and/or size changes. A/E contract will include site investigation, design (with reviews), cost estimates, reproduction of bid documents, construction period services, final inspections and as-built drawings. Estimated construction cost range is $1.0 to $2.0 million. Estimated cost range for this solicitation is $100,000 to $250,000. Area of consideration: Firms must be within 150 miles radius, of the VAMC-Iowa City.
