- Description
- NASA/JSC has a requirement for Acoustocam Model I500(1 each), 1 MHz source transducer (1 each), 7 MHz source transducer (1 each), Training Class, and Calibration Standards (1 each). NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Imperium, Inc. The pulse-echo ultrasound camera with A-scan features an adjustable angle beam with liquid crystal display (LCD) and controller box. The camera provides a real-time (instant) 2-D ultrasonic c-scan images for sub-surface flaw detection purposes. It contains all required cables and one 3.5 MHz source transducer. This device incorporates Imperium's Patented Digital Acoustic Video into a handheld ultrasound camera, and it is required to inspect Shuttle, Station, and Constellation. The camera is being procured by two other NASA centers, Kennedy Space Center and Marshal Spaceflight Center. Maintaining product consistency across NASA centers will provide continuing collaborative research and development efforts. Acoustocam Model I500 is the only camera system that can meet technical requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 26, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
