- Description
- Q. Is this an All or Nothing Bid? A. Not for bid. This is a request for information from vendors on their current server technologies. Q. What specifically will these servers be used for? A. Various. Q. Could you describe in some detail what the "Two Node Distributed Data Center" consists of and requirements for so I can address how our products may meet these requirements? A. The Two Node Distributed Data Center would conceptually consist of two identical yet geographically separate server farms that are capable of independently servicing all the automation requirements of USSOCOM. Server farms would replicate certain data types to ensure data redundancy and availability. Q. Please clarify what you are looking for when you are requesting information on: 1. Prior testing 2. Test report 3. Estimated schedule A1. Prior testing = summary of any testing related to performance, durability, maintenance, or government certification and accreditation. A2. Test report = Disregard, summary of any prior testing will suffice. A3. Estimated schedule = The statement ?estimated schedule and an estimated cost for the price of test articles and production units? is misleading. Statement is amended to read: estimated cost and anticipated delivery time required for test articles and production units. Q. What applications will be run on the servers, and what Operating System is envisioned. Perhaps the applications will point to the OS. A. Our current scope is focused solely on review of hardware technical specifications and performance parameters independent of operating system. Q. Is there a specific document format that you require? A. No. Whitepapers and specification documentation in a format chosen by the vendor will suffice. Q. What will be the result of the market survey? A. Market survey results will be used to identify server technologies for in depth testing in our LAB. Q. Is this requirement, Memory intensive, Input/Output intensive, or transaction intensive? A. Memory performance, I/O, and transaction performance should all be addressed in the provided documentation. Q. Can the response date of this RFI be extended to 20 July? A. Extended to 31 July.
