- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases (CCID), National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID), Influenza Division is seeking to award a sole source commercial contract for four (4) Axio Observer microscopes and associated accessories. Delivery will be required eight (8) weeks after receipt of order. The Government has determined that Carl Zeiss Microimaging, Inc. is the only responsible source for this requirement to meet the Government?s minimum qualifications of 1.) 10,000 hour lifetime for transmitted light illumination, 2.) convenient and ergonomically positioned focus knobs, 3.) three (3) lens aspheric designed eyepieces with 23mm field of view, 4.) dual multi position filter wheels, 5.) six (6) position nosepiece, 6.) 30 degree inclination of binocular tube, 7.) vertically adjustable coaxial controlled mechanical stage, 8.) objects that are 10X, 20X and 40X phase contract ICS field objectives, 9.) achromatic aplanic condenser with swing out from lens, and 10.) ability to utilize a relief contrast technique. In particular, it is believed that the illuminator and variable relief contrast offered by Zeiss are unique and unavailable from any other source. The Government intends to Request quotes on 08 August 2007, with award by 31 August 2007. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
