- NOTIFICATION OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER for The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Office of Program Services (OPS) to National TASC. This Purchase Order request is to support the 14th National TASC Ninth Annual Conference on Drugs and Crime. The conference will be held in Westminster, Colorado at the Westin Westminster Hotel. The theme of the conference is: ?Connecting with our Communities for Successful Recovery and Reentry: Communication, Collaboration, Commitment. It is anticipated that four hundred people will attend the conference from the Criminal Justice, Treatment, Social Services, Legislative, academic, and drug research fields. The conference will be a forum for exchange of ideas and a showcase for the state-of-the-art technology and information on offender management, drug treatment programming, drug courts, offender re-entry, research, and information technology. As the theme implies, this year?s conference will focus on the community partnerships that are necessary to ensure the recovery and reentry of prior offenders. The conference will feature tracks on reentry and recovery support, demand reduction and Methamphetamine prevention, evidence based practices-practical applications for improved results; improving family health through prevention; TASC and problem solving courts and technology, connectivity and community responses. Additional workshops will include family-focused programs, front-end diversion, working with other systems, and working with scarce resources. Through plenary sessions, panel discussions, and training workshops, participants and sponsors will learn about the latest innovations and developments in juvenile/criminal justice/mental health case management. In addition, conference attendees will have the opportunity to attend several pre-conference sessions for federal grantees and other subjects. Interested parties possessing these required capabilities should submit a cover letter, along with their capability statement, demonstrating the ability to perform all aspects of this requirement. Responses must include: the contractor?s name and business address; the name, phone number and e-mail address of a point of contact; the contractor?s Tax Identification Number and DUNS number (so the Government can verify that the firm is registered in the CCR); a list of previous contracts for similar type requirements; and any company literature or brochures that may be relevant. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all capability statements or proposals received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Small business concerns (including small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, HUBZone small businesses, woman-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, etc.) are encouraged to review this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any requests for solicitation packages will be disregarded.
