Description

This SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE is for market research purposes to determine the availability of aircraft wheel & tire tear-down and build-up equipment meeting the criteria and capabilities as follows: 1) It must be manufactured in the United States. 2) It must be a commercial or modified commercial item with same/similar basic design manufactured for the last two years and sold through a customary distribution network, Internet, or catalog on a competitive basis with other manufacturer's aircraft wheel & tire tear-down and build-up equipment of similar design and intended market niche. 3) The equipment is intended for use with the United States Air Force (USAF) KC-135 refueling aircraft, which is commercially the Boeing 707 airframe. However, equipment should be easily adapted for use with other USAF aircraft wheel & tire assemblies. 4) Equipment must comply with the requirements of USAF Technical Order (TO) 4T-1-3, INSP, MAINT INSTR -- STORAGE AND DISPOSITION OF ACFT TIRES AND INNER TUBES. 5) The pr imary purpose of this requirement will be reduce the manual effort required to tear-down and build-up aircraft wheel & tire assemblies in a cost effective manner.
