Description
1. The first and most important is the RH range within +68F to +180F. There are two design models of walk-in chambers. The first being panelized which can with stand your temperature range but have RH limitations. Panelized walk-ins are foamed-in-placed urethane panels with cam lock fasteners. The panels cannot withstand dewpoint temperatures greater than 65C. The panels will deteriorate. Thus, testing at 85C @ 85% would be 81C dewpoint which the panels could n ot withstand. The same holds true for the bi-fold door design. Therefore, it is important to know more about the MIL Standard testing being performed. Can you provide us the Mil Specifications? The option to a panelized walk-in is a solid construction walk-in chamber (more costly). Do you know which style walk-in is preferred? 1. RESPONSE. Our requirements remain as listed in the Salient Characteristics. Humidity range of 25 to 95%. The Relative Humidity shall be controllable from 20 to 95% +/- 3% RH for the temperature range of +68F to +180F. 2. The next question is what type of product is being loaded. 600lbs per square foot can be a ruggidized insulated panel, or a solid construction welded and insulated concrete floor, or an insulated concrete slab. A insulated concrete slab eliminates the need for ramps. If your product is big and heavy, this would style floor may be preferred. Can you clarify your product type being loaded? 2. RESPONSE: A. The 600 lbs per square foot can be any type of container with virtually any type of product including solids and liquids. A ramp is not a requirement even though it would be desired. 3. Will the compressor package be located outside? 3. RESPONSE: External to the main chamber but inside the same room/building. 4. Do you prefer water-cooled or remote air-cooled? 4. RESPONSE: Water-cooled is preferred. 5. Is there a time or rate spec that the chamber should be able to track as far a XX degrees per minute rate change. 5.,6.,7., 8., RESPONSE: No ramp-temperatures specified 6. If so, between what temperatures? 7. Again if so, would this rate be for an empty chamber? 8. If loaded, please advise the material i.e. steel, aluminum, etc and the weight of each. 9. Size of chamber, interior volume or workspace dimensions needed? 9. RESPONSE: Nominally, the chamber work space should be 10ft X 10ft X10ft. We recognize that some space may be required for ductwork, light fixtures, etc. 10. What will be put in the chamber? 11. What is the Width, Depth and Height of the Device Under Test (DUT)? 12. What is the total weight of the DUT's? 13. How many DUT's will be tested at one time? 14. Will there be any test fixtures used to hold the DUT? What are they made of? Their weight will need to be part of the total weight in the chamber. 10-14 RESPONSES: N/A as the test item(s) will vary in weight, size, type of container, quantity of containers. No test fixtures are required. 15. How many port holes will you need in the chamber? 4 or 6 inch? Where would you like them located? 15. RESPONSE: Two four-inch and two one-inch as required in the solicitation. One of each Centered on the sides is preferred. 16. Will the item/s being tested be tested while live? If so, we need to consider the heat it will generate. Do you know how many watts or btu/hour they will be generating? 16. RESPONSE: Possibly but does not affect the requirements. 17. Is there a temperature rate of change you would need to meet? (IE: 5 degrees F per 10 minutes.) 17. RESPONSE: See response to #5 above.
