- Description
- The Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Coral Reef Program, intends to negotiate with Hans Hoegh-Guldberg (Economic Strategies Pty Ltd) to address the socioeconomic research and monitoring requirements related to the impacts of climate change on coral bleaching in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS). Dr. Hoegh-Guldberg conducted similar work for Australia?s Great Barrier Reef. The contractor shall provide the following services: - compile macroeconomic data on industries in Monroe County Florida in terms of income and employment - compile existing information on reef use in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNM). - develop scenarios for evaluating socioeconomic impacts of climate change on coral bleaching. Notwithstanding the Government?s intent to negotiate on a sole source basis, responsible sources may submit a response which, if timely received, will be considered by NOAA. Responses must be submitted by Tuesday, August 7, at 3:00 Eastern Time.
