- Description
- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a purchase order on a non-competitive sole source basis to: Malvern Instruments Inc., for Zetasizer Nano S. The Zetasizer Nano S specifications are as follows: Utilizes back-scatter optical particle size measurements combined with zeta potential measurements in a single instrument. Has a unique sample temperature range from 2oC to 90oC, controlled to 0.1o, which allows testing of temperature impact on aggregation. Has a combination HeNe laser and avalanche photodiode (which allows for measurement of small particles at low concentration without a more powerful laser). Software features in clued an SOP operating envirnonment and the ability to calculate Intensity weighted (for low-concentration proteins) and Volume weighted (for high concentration) size reports. This instrument includes an autotitrator and the ability to connect to 1 or 2 other external detectors, such as an HPLC instrument or Size Exclusion (SEC) column. The auto-titrator automates the zeta potential vs. pH measurements. This titrator can be completely integrated into the system and includes controlling software. Part# ZEN1601 Zetasizer Nano S, Part#ZEN1600 Zetasizer Nano-S for HeNe laser, Part# ZEN1001 MPT2 Multipurpose titrator, Part# ZEN0023 Quartz flow cell, Part# ZEN9064 Option for flow mode operation to enable connection of 1 or 2 external detectors. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
