See Q&A for more information. ---------------------------------------------------------------- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Solicitation number FA5004-07-T-0032 is hereby issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-18, 5 July 2007. This acquisition is 100 percent set aside for small business concerns and is under North American Industry Classification Standards (NAICS) code 423620, with the size standard not to exceed 100 employees. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: CLIN 0001: Offer will be submitted as one Lump Sum for all. Manufacture and model number are preferred and provided for reference. Or equal will be accepted based on description and specifications. Shipping; does it have to be shipped directly there? Answer: No. When appliances come to this office is it acceptable for vendor to transport it to facility. 2. If it is shipped directly who will be responsible for receiving, inspection of freight, and storage? Answer: The Contractor. 3. Will there be access to dumpsters for disposal of pallets and cardboard on base that CCS can use? Answer: No. Contractor must remove their own trash ( there is the Denali Borough dump about 5 miles from base). 4. As some items may deliver sooner, can appliances be brought and stored on base until ready to install? Answer: No. We have no place for them to store them unless contractor wants to bring in a conex to store them in. 5. Where are these appliances going into? Answer: Homes and dormitories. 6. Do the places of delivery have multiple floor levels? Answer: Yes. There are three (3) floors but we have an elevator. 7. What is our accessibility to delivery points? Answer: There are four (4) access/delivery points available for use. 8. Are there existing appliances in place already? If so, who is responsible for this? Where do you want them disposed of? Answer: There are no existing appliances. 9. If there are refrigerators already there that need disposed of, who is responsible for pumping down compressors rendering them safe for disposal? Answer: There are no existing appliances. 10. Are new dryers to be electrically hooked using existing power cord or replaced with new? If new, need specifications regarding whether 3 or 4 conductor. Answer: Dryers are electric, will require cords, 4 prong plugs. 11. Are new dryers to be vented with existing dryer flex vent hose and clamps or new? Answer: Connection is in place, may need short piece of flex hose. 12. Is there an existing dryer vent installed through the wall? Answer: Yes. 13. Refrigerators have ice makers built in. Is there existing water hook up and valve ready? Answer: Yes. 14. In regards to delivery date of September 25, 2007, does this mean by and can be done sooner or on that date only. Answer: Can be done anytime on or before that date; however, Amendment 1 to the Solicitation has changed the delivery date to October 15, 2007. Delivery should occur on or before October 15, 2007. 15. Is it possible to go to base and meet with someone to review locations, storage, specifications, etc, prior to deadline? Answer: There will NOT be an official site visit (which includes Contracting personnel and the ability of vendors to ask questions) for this requirement. However, an INFORMAL site visit will be conducted Monday, August 6, 2007 at 9:30AM at Clear AFS, Alaska. Point-of-contact is Technical Sergeant Todd Talladay, Clear AFS, AK (907) 585-6339. No questions may be asked at the informal site visit. I see that this solicitation is for appliance and installation ,I assume that the old appliance has been removed or will the contractor be responsible for the disposal of the old appliances at this location? Answer: Brand new dorm, no appliances to remove 2. If so what is the method of disposal? DRMO, our at the discretion of the contractors ? Answer: See previous 3. If they are to be disposed of at DRMO, will the contractor be required to remove the Freon from the refrigerators before turning them into DRMO? Answer: See previous 3. Will the 15 ea. Speed Queen Washers, Mod # AWS51NW require new hot and cold water supply hoses? Answer: Yes 4. Will the 15 ea. Speed Queen Dryer, Mod # AES17AWF require new dryer vents? Answer: No vent is in place, but may need short vent hose 5. Is there an established water hook up/shut off for each of the 25 ea. GE Refrigerator, Mod # GTS18ICSRWW , 18 Cu Ft with Ice marker, Our will they require the contractor to install water hook-ups. Answer: Valve is in place 6. Are the Dryers electrical or gas? I could not find any mention to this. Answer: Electric 4 prong 7. The warranty that you are asking for in this solicitation, is this warranty the standard manufactor warranty or is it in addition to the manufactor warranty. If this is in addition to, then what is the term of the extended warrenty, one, two, or three years. Answer: Standard manufactory warranty
