Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items under solicitation number W912LQ07T3003 issued on 27 July 07 prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. T his announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 2005-18, effective on June 3 0, 2007.? Provisions and clauses may be downloaded at http://www.farsite.hill.af.mil. It is the responsibility of the offeror to be familiar with applicable clauses and provisions. This requirement will be solicited on an unrestricted basis. The NAICS code is 611420 and the size standard is $6.5 million. The 192nd MSG/MSC Virginia Air National Guard Contracting Office contemplates the award of a Firm-Fixed price type contract for three (3) Instructor-Led Computer Training Courses. All three courses mu st be taught by a Sun Microsystems Certified Instructor. Evidence of the certification must be provided with your quotation. CLIN (Contract Line Item Number) 0001 is for UNIX Essentials featuring the Solaris 10 Operating System. The course must provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to use components of the desktop system, manage files and directories, create and modify files, control the user work environment, archive files, and use remote commands. In addition, the course must explai n fundamental command-line features of the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS), including file system navigation, the vi text editor, file permissions, access control lists (ACLs), command shells, file compression, basic network use, and reading shell sc ripts. This course is the first of a two-part series that students take in preparation for the Sun Certified System Administrator for Solaris, Part I examination. The estimated course length is 4 days. There are approximately 4 students. The requested t imeframe of when the course should be taught is 27-30 Aug 2007. CLIN 0002 is for System Administration for the Solaris 10 Operating System Part 1. This course provides direct experience with the most essential system administration tasks in the Solaris 10 OS. Instruction to include system management skills such as: managing local disk devices, managing UFS file systems, installing and removing Solaris packages and patches, and performing system boot procedures. The course must also provide instruction on user and security administration, managing network printers and system processes, and performing system backups and restores. The course is designed to help the user prepare for Part I of the Sun Certified System Administration for Solaris OS examinatio n. The course must also provide a hands-on lab to give the users experience accessing equipment. This course is the second of a two-part series that helps the user prepare for Part I of the Sun Certified System Administration for Solaris OS examination. The course must include the Certification Exam Voucher, a web based course, and a practice certification exam. The estimated course length is 5 days. There are approximately 7 students. The requested timeframe of when the course should be taught is 10-1 4 Sep 2007. CLIN 0003 is for System Administration for the Solaris 10 Operating System Part 2. This course expands the students skills and mastery of the Solaris 10 Operating System. This course must provide students with hands-on experience working w ith more complex and integrated administration concepts, and builds upon the Part 1 course. Students must be instructed in essential system administration skills including: configuring network interfaces, managing swap configurations, crash dumps, and core files. The course should also cover configuring NFS and AutoFS as well as system messaging, managing storage volumes and ZFS file systems, setting up naming se rvices and managing Solaris Zones. This course helps the student prepare for Part II of the Sun System Administration certification exam. The course must also provide a hands-on lab to give the users experience accessing equipment. The hands-on labs offe red in this course may involve accessing equipment that resides at a location other than where the training is delivered. Must include the Certification Exam Voucher, a web based course, and a practice certification exam. The estimated course length is 5 days. There are approximately 7 students. The requested timeframe of when the course should be taught is 24-28 Sep 2007. The courses must be taught within a reasonable driving distance from the Richmond, Virginia area to eliminate the need for the stud ents to travel long distances and the need for lodging. Reasonable driving distance is no more than a 90-mile range from Richmond, VA. The courses may be taught on-site at the Virginia Air National Guard Base, Sandston, VA provided the contractor can bri ng all required training materials and hardware necessary to conduct the class. All prospective offerors must have a Commercial and Government Entity Code (CAGE Code) and be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) as prescribed in DFARS 25 2.204-7004, in order to be considered for award.
