- The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is in need of a replacement Riegl Z420i Scanning Laser Terrestrial LIDAR system. To meet this need, the USGS intends to contract with Riegl USA, 7035 Grand National Drive, Suite 100, Orlando, FL 32819, for 1 each Riegl Z420i Scanning Laser Terrestrial LIDAR system to include RiPRO acquisition software and connection cables on a noncompetitive basis in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1), 13.5 and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled "Acquisition of Commercial Items." The USGS is not aware of any other manufacturer currently making equipment that is capable of meeting our need as a replacement unit. Other interested concerns having the ability to meet the USGS' requirement may submit a capabilities statement to the Contract Specialist no later than the closing date of this announcement at 17:00 local time. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. If no competitive opportunities exist, request for quotation (RFQ) 07WRQQ0069 will be made available to Marine Reef International, INC through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE) on or about 19 June 2007, IAW FAR 5.102(a)(1).
