- Description
- The South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS), has a requirement for a contractor to provide maintenance, repair, storage, delivery and set-up of VA owned Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to eligible beneficiaries of the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System. Contractor will provide service to approximately 81 counties in the South Texas region in and around surrounding areas of the following cities: San Antonio, Kerrville, Laredo, Harlingen, McAllen, Corpus Christi, Victoria, Eagle Pass, Del Rio. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be available on or about August 3, 2007. Solicitation will be issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.102 (a), and is prepared in the commercial item format and consistent with FAR Part's 2 and 12. This solicitation is 100% set-aside for small businesses. NAICS code is 621610. The small business size standard is 12.5M. The STVHCS intends to award a single award contract with 1 base year and (2) one-year options for renewal. The contractor shall be accredited by a nationally recognized accreditation agency. The contractor shall follow the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and/or comply with all standards in the most current volume of the Accreditation Manual for Home Care. The contractor shall perform services in accordance with, and shall abide by, JCAHO, CMS AND CMS Home Healthcare Standards for equipment management and applicable Department of Transportation, CDC, Food and Drug Administration, and OSHA regulations and guidelines. The contractor must be accredited at time of award and maintain accreditation throughout the life of the contract. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and/or licenses that might be required to perform services under this contract. The Government intends to evaluate offers and award a contract without discussions, therefore, the offeror's initial offer should contain the offeror's best terms from a price and technical standpoint in accordance with solicitation evaluation factors and contract requirements. However, the Government reserves the right to conduct discussions if later determined by the Contracting Officer to be necessary.
