Description
Description: SO1 LRIP. The U.S. Army TACOM LCMC anticipates contracting on a sole source basis for SO1 with The Boeing Company. Spin Out is the term used to define the early production and fielding of certain Future Combat Systems (FCS) technologies and sub-systems, as those technologies and sub-systems become sufficiently mature, so as to increase the operational capability of Current Force Brigade Combat Teams (CF-BCTs). It is estimated that the SO1 LRIP contract will consist of the procurement of 1 7 BCT Sets to be incrementally fielded over a period of seven years (FY 2008 to FY 2014). This includes the associated training, fielding and testing support, and sustainment of selected technologies and sub-systems developed under the Armys FCS Program. This will provide enhanced situational awareness and communication capabilities for the Current Force through technology insertio ns into Abrams, Bradley and HMMWV. This initial award, targeted for 2QFY08, will provide for acquisition of Long Lead Items, facilitization, and tooling. Spin Out 1 consists of the following items: Ground Mobile Radio (GMR), Integrated Computer System (IC S) Type VI, the System of Systems Common Operating Environment (SoSCOE), Battle Command (BC) software, Network Management System (NMS) software, and Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) both Urban and Tactical variants. Parties interested in subcontracting opportunities as a result of this contract action shoul d identify such in any response provided.
