THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTES. NO FORMAL RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS AWARD WILL BE MADE ON OR ABOUT JULY 25, 2007, UNDER SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES. The U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Discipline, Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility, Stennis Space Center, MS, intends to award a sole source contract to YSI Incorporated, Brannum Lane, Yellow Springs, Ohio, for our Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) at Stennis Space Center, MS, for environmental monitoring systems, water quality instruments, flow and velocity instruments, and field engineering and installation. The HIF is responsible for testing, evaluating, and approving numerous types of instrumentation and equipment for USGS use, as well as for other Federal Agencies. The HIF routinely stocks a multitude of instruments which are supplied by a number of different manufacturers. The HIF's customer base determines the demand for equipment purchased.
