Description
Public Notice Notice is hereby given to the public of the U.S. General Service Administration?s (GSA?s) intent to enter into a succeeding lease agreement for the Office of the Cuba Broadcasting (OCB) division of the International Broadcasting Bureau and Broadcasting Board of Governors in Miami, Florida. The project will remain at 49,427 occupiable square feet with parking at 24 structured parking spaces and 120 surface spaces. Effective date of this action is anticipated for May 20, 2008. Based upon a Cost Benefit Analysis on this project, it has been determined that there is only one responsive source that is in the best interest of the Government. Any relocation would result in relocati8on and duplication of costs to the Government that are not expected to be recovered through full and open competition. The location of the project makes it susceptible to flooding at or above the 100-year flood level. Current owner will be required to meet all applicable requirements and obtain appropriate flood insurance in keeping with the 100 Year flood plain plan for Miami Springs (Dade County), Florida. As required by the Competition in Contracting Act (CICA), GSA advertised the Government?s intent to enter into a succeeding lease on February 23, 2007 for the space at Jorge Mas Canosa building, 4201 N.W. 77th Avenue, Miami Florida. No responses were received. Phil Youngberg, GSA?s Environmental Manager was contacted for input into the analysis of this project. Public comment is invited on this action as to possible alternatives. Interested persons may obtain more detailed information about this action and its specific location from GSA, Ms. Pam Murphy, GSA Contracting Officer, General Services Administration, 400 West Bay Street, Box 3, Jacksonville, Florida 32202 or by email at Pamela.murphy@gsa.gov. Comments about this project should be submitted in writing to the address above within twenty (20) days of this notice
