- This is a notice of contracting's intent to negotiate a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis with Illinois Tool Works, Incorporated, 825 University Avenue, Norwood, Massachusetts 02062-2643. This purchase order will be for the procuremen t of one model 5566 Table Mounted Testing System, with a capacity of 1000 kg/2250 lbs. manufactured by the Instrom Corp. This is required to maintain continuity with all of the previously purchased specialized tooling and fixtures that were utilized with t he Model 4202. These items, to include five variuos capacity load cells for tensil and compression testing, pneumatic grips, calipers, and numerous grip faces, were purchased for use with the machine that is being replaced and can be utilized with the new machine thereby resulting in cost savings. Award of this requirement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
