Description
Public Notice Notice is hereby given to the public of the U.S. General Service Administration?s (GSA?s) intent to enter into a lease agreement for space to be constructed for the use of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Miramar, Florida. The project will include 55,925 ANSI/BOMA office area with approximately 100 parking spaces for government use adjacent to the new building with additional 260 parking spaces either on-site or within close proximity. The FAA is currently located at 8600 N.W. 36th Street, Miami, Florida under a lease which will expire on March 30, 2009, with termination rights upon 120 days notice. This location is physically and functionally inadequate to meet the current needs of FAA as to interior space layout, configuration, and consolidation efforts of other FAA locations. Additionally, FAA?s mission requires that its new office building be located in the delineated area identified herein in Miramar, Florida The location of the project within the defined delineated area makes it susceptible to flooding at or above the 100-year flood level. As required by the Competition in Contracting Act (CICA), GSA has already advertised FAA?s new space requirement within boundaries identified under SFO 6FL0191 in Miramar, Florida. The boundaries established for this procurement were North: I-595; South: SR821; East: Florida Turnpike as it runs parallel to I-95; West: I-75. This requirement was advertised in FedBizOps on February 28, 2007. A market survey was conducted in response to the advertisement. Offers are being evaluated with an anticipated award within the next 6 weeks. Phil Youngberg, GSA?s Environmental Manager was contacted for input into the analysis of this project. Public comment is invited on any possible alternatives. Interested persons may obtain more detailed information about this action and its specific location from GSA, Ms. Pam Murphy, GSa contracting Officer, General Services Administration, 400 West Bay Street, Box 3, Jacksonville, Florida 32202 or by email at Pamela.murphy@gsa.gov. Comments about this project should be submitted in writing to the address above within fifteen (15) days of this notice.
