Description
This Presolicitation Notice is to announce CDC?s intention to purchase from VICON Motion Systems, Inc, 9 Spectrum Pointe Drive, Lake Forest, CA 92630-2242. A VICON MX-F40 System with 14 VICON MX-F40 Cameras with 4.0 MegaPixel resolution up to 370Hz, including software, toolkits, and accessories. The CDC requires a VICON MX-F40 System capable of: (1) supporting up to 128 channels of analog data simultaneously with marker data, using a single processor to guarantee accurate synchronization between the data types, (2) 256 shades of gray scale data for centroid processing in real-time, or off-line, with circle fitting algorithms to determine marker centers, and 3 on-board smart processors in each camera to perform these functions, (3) differentiating overlapping markers from each camera?s view in real time and off-line using a digital design, with data throughput utilizing a 1Gigabit Ethernet card for streaming, (4) capturing full resolution data (using digital CMOS sensors with 2352 x 1728 (4 MegaPixel) resolution) up to 370Hz with an electronic freeze frame shutter custom designed for motion capture, (5) 2D image capture with a resolution of 2352 x 1728 up to 370 frames per second allowing markers 3-4 mm in diameter to be accurately located with a mean residual error < 0.25 mm within a 2 m x 2 m x 2 m data capture space, (6) a single cable connection from the camera to provide power, synchronization, and video signals, (7) surface-mounted LED strobes that are timed with the freeze frame shutter on the camera, (8) employing a user customizable software interface that includes a protocol construction wizard that controls the system from the start of data collection to final post-processing, within a single executable, thereby decreasing the likelihood of mistakes in protocol performance, (9) static subject labeling with a single mouse click, for all custom, user-defined marker configurations, in addition to conventional or vendor-specified marker configurations, (10) batch processing across a user-selected set of processes, subjects, and trials, without user interaction, from a single executable, (11) employing software that functions as a Windows Active X Automation Server run on the same executable used to calibrate and capture data, that can call external routines (e.g., Matlab, LabVIEW, MS Word, Excel, Access, C++, etc.), (12) real time camera aiming capabilities with field of view visualization to facilitate experimental set-up, (13) instantaneous audio bio-feedback based upon kinematic movements, or any other system input (e.g., analog data streaming in real time), (14) calibrating two digital cameras (33Hz) into the 3D workspace for real time visualization of 3D data and ground reaction force vector data overlaid in the 2D video image, (15) seamless data integration with systems used by collaborators primarily based upon the C3D file format. Based upon its market research, CDC is unaware of any other passive reflective motion capture system that meets the technical requirements or specifications of this procurement. Therefore, 15 days after the posting of this announcement, CDC will be issuing an RFQ to VICON Motion Systems, Inc, for the VICON MX-F40 System stated above. This notice is for information purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. Any responsible vendor interested in this procurement who believes that they have similar passive reflective motion capture system that meets all the technical requirements or specifications specified for this procurement are encouraged to submit product and pricing information to: Diane J Meeder, Contract Specialist, Reference 2007-Q-09760, CDC, NIOSH, 626 Cochrans Mill Road, Pittsburgh PA 15236, DMeeder@cdc.gov. Any information received in response to this notice will be considered by the Government solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
